Frequently asked questions

Will it fit my shower? If your shower head unscrews, this fits. It uses the standard US threading found on fixed arms and handheld hoses alike.

Will my water pressure drop? Most people notice no meaningful change. If your pressure is already low, a filter adds a small amount of resistance  worth knowing before you order.

How often do I replace the cartridge? Roughly every three months, or 10,000 gallons. Hard water areas may want to swap sooner.

Does it soften water? No. A shower filter reduces chlorine and certain dissolved metals. It is not a water softener and does not remove hardness minerals  those need a whole-house system.

Can I take it with me? Yes. It unscrews as easily as it went on.

Cartridge replacement

Replace the cartridge approximately every three months or after up to 10,000 gallons of typical household use.

Cartridge life can vary depending on:

• Local water quality
• Water hardness
• Household size
• Shower frequency
• Sediment levels

Homes with very hard water or higher water consumption may need to replace the cartridge sooner.

A noticeable reduction in pressure, stronger chlorine odor, or a return of mineral buildup can indicate that the cartridge should be replaced.

How to replace the cartridge

1. Turn off the shower.
2. Unscrew the filter housing by hand.
3. Remove the used cartridge.
4. Insert the replacement cartridge in the correct orientation.
5. Check that the sealing washers are seated correctly.
6. Close the housing and hand-tighten securely.
7. Run the shower briefly and check for leaks.

Cleaning the housing

Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach, acidic cleaners, scouring powders, and harsh chemicals that could damage the polished finish.

If mineral residue develops around the connections, remove it gently with a soft cloth. Do not overtighten the housing or fittings with tools.
