UNIVERSAL THREADING
Before anything else the practical question. You are not buying a filter to admire it. You are buying it to use it, tomorrow morning, without a plumber on standby. So: will it fit?
The short answer
Almost certainly, yes. Dulcis Agua is built to thread directly onto the connection already on your wall the same fitting that holds your current showerhead in place. No adapter, no drilling, no call to building maintenance. It installs between your shower arm and your showerhead, by hand, in the time it takes the water to warm up.
What "universal" actually means
Nearly every fixed overhead shower arm in a U.S. home uses the same connection standard, regardless of the brand of showerhead sitting on it Moen, Delta, Kohler, a builder-grade fixture from 1994. That's the connection Dulcis Agua is engineered around. If your current showerhead simply unscrews by hand or with light effort, ours will thread on in its place.
This is also why the filter sits between your arm and your showerhead rather than replacing the showerhead outright your existing head, or our included head for the Duo system, stays exactly where it belongs.
The two exceptions worth knowing
Universal covers the overwhelming majority of American bathrooms, but two setups are worth checking before you order:
- Imported or older European fixtures. Homes with fittings brought in from outside North America occasionally use a different thread standard. It's uncommon, but it happens.
- Handheld-only or hose-fed systems. If your shower has no fixed arm at all just a handheld unit on a hose the connection point is different, and you may need to confirm compatibility before purchasing.
The thirty-second check
Unscrew your current showerhead by hand and look at the threading where it met the wall arm. If it looks like a standard, unremarkable metal thread which it almost always does you're set.
